Unfortunately, designing these production systems and making sure they can be operated safely is an expensive and labor-intensive ordeal that involves thousands of pages of drawings where one mistake can cause millions of dollars in rework or even disasters. Outerport solves this by helping engineering firms automate the design of the industrial control systems needed for production scale-up, using a domain-specific language for electrical design with thousands of unit tests that verify performance, and building simulators that can ingest already built schematics of plants to help automate comissioning and help train operators to prevent costly mistakes.
